Salesforce Campaigns and Contrast
For every webinar you create in Contrast, a corresponding campaign is automatically created in Salesforce. This allows you to track attendee engagement at scale.
Campaign members and statuses
When someone registers for your webinar, Contrast creates a campaign member linked to their contact or lead record. Each campaign member has a status that indicates their level of engagement.
Default Salesforce statuses
By default, Salesforce provides two statuses:
Sent — Registrant received the webinar invitation
Responded — Registrant attended the live event
Custom Contrast statuses (optional)
If enabled in your Contrast settings, Contrast creates three custom statuses per campaign:
Registered — User registered for the webinar
Attended — User attended the live event
Did Not Attend — User registered but did not attend
You can disable custom statuses if you prefer to use Salesforce's default statuses or have existing automation that relies on them. Simply let us know.
Status updates
Here's how statuses are updated:
With Custom Statuses:
User registers → Registered
User attends live → Attended
User doesn't attend → Did Not Attend
With default Salesforce statuses:
User registers → Sent
User attends live → Responded
User doesn't attend → Sent
Live vs. Replay
The Salesforce integration only tracks live events and simulive (pre-recorded) webinars. Replay attendance is not tracked separately or assigned a distinct status.
Engagement metadata
While Contrast collects detailed engagement data (registration, live view including watch time % and replay views), this information is recorded as tasks on the contact or lead record rather than as structured data on the campaign member.
