In this article, we'll look at how to schedule an automated webinar that goes automatically live on a specific date and time in the future.
You can use automated webinars for product launches - where absolutely nothing can go wrong. Or for content such as demos, that are always the same.
ℹ️ Automated webinars go live on a set date and time - without the need to be present during the webinar.
Schedule an pre-recorded webinar
Create a new webinar by clicking on Schedule > One time event
. In here you'll be able to select whether you want a live webinar, or an pre-recorded one. In this case, select pre-recorded video.
You now have the ability to upload a previous webinar. You can also do this later if you haven't recorded it yet.
Here's what a successful upload looks like. You can preview your uploaded video from this same menu.
You can now save the event and promote it like a regular live webinar.
On the day of the webinar
Fully automated
Your webinar will go live automatically on the selected date and time. It will also end automatically after the video is done playing. Technically, the webinar will run without any human intervention.
However, it is still possible to chat with people and launch polls (coming very soon) during the webinar.
Pre-recorded webinar studio
In the share menu
of your webinar, you'll find a link to the webinar studio. You can use the webinar studio to chat with your audience while the event plays - or launch polls.
There's a countdown that show you when the webinar will go live for your audience.
Pre-recorded webinars and HubSpot
You can expect the very same data to be synced with HubSpot as with live events. More info on the HubSpot integration can be found here.
What is not yet supported
Automated webinars do not yet work with recurring webinars. This feature is ready before the end of this year.
It is not yet possible to launch chat messages and polls at specific times in the webinar.
